Pradip Kumar Das comes with a wealth of experience in Higher Education before he moved to Secondary Education. This move arose out of a passion to provide quality education at the High School level, which he believes should groom responsible citizens. As a Langham Scholar pursuing his research in History at Bristol University, UK, he lived with his family in the UK for four years and was invited to give special lectures in the Netherlands and at Trinity College, Bristol. He had also presented another lecture series on comparative religions in Bristol.
He was Principal of the 110 year old Mount Hermon School and Mount Hermon Teachers Training College, Darjeeling, Principal of the 125-year old Baldwin Boys High School and Baldwin Polytechnic College, Bangalore, and Vice Principal and Acting Principal of Kodaikanal International School (KIS) - the first International Baccalaureate (IB) school in India. After KIS, he set up, and became the first Principal of Greenwood High School, Bangalore. Now prior to joining Candor International School as its first Principal, he had been the first Principal of Indus International School, Pune.
His training at the XLRI, Jamshedpur, has ensured that the schools he runs are managed effectively. The qualities that stand out most in his leadership are his genuine interest in the welfare of students and teachers, his wisdom in handling critical school issues, his involvement in international school circles and his continuing desire to be a life-long learner. He brings with him the rich blend of experience of managing old, traditional public schools, as well as the skills of establishing new schools.
