The management believes not only in the pursuit of academic excellence which challenges the intellect but in raising social awareness through authentic community service activities, a sharpening of moral and ethical consciousness through what is taught and learnt and a heightening of emotional sensitivity through the integration of the visual and performing arts.” Mr. Das further emphasized the eco-sensitive atmosphere by saying, “The school has been designed to meet the optimum number of 1,110 students and stands on 20 % of the 20 acres. This is in keeping with the requirements of the Indian Green Building Council.
The class sizes will remain 24 per class with a staff student ratio of 1:10.” On choosing Mr. Mahesh Bhupathi as the brand ambassador of Candor International School, Mr. Das added, “We strongly believe that for the wholistic development of students, apart from academic excellence, the promoting of a sense of physical wellness through active engagement in sports is very essential.
This why the brand ambassador of Candor is Mahesh Bhupathi, whose company Globosport partners the school, not just in coaching the children but in the planning, supervising and maintenance of our sports infrastructure.” The renowned Tennis Player and the Brand Ambassador of CANDOR International School said, “It’s an honor for me to be a brand ambassador as well as the sports consultant of Candor International School. I would like to see myself involved in more than just the role of an ambassador and a consultant. I would like to support Candor in helping these youngsters to excel in sports, share in the team aspect of sports and become involved in making a difference.” Candor is also partnering with SCCIP International Pte. Ltd (LS Creative Learning Pvt. Ltd.) to integrate Robotic technology into science, art, math and other subjects so that students become effective team players and able problem solvers. Mr. Kikuchi, Chairman, LS Creative Learning Pvt. Ltd said, “This is the first time we are partnering with an Indian institution. We look forward to this partnership and hope to prepare these young minds with the skills that are needed to make an impact for the 21st century. We are thankful to Candor for providing us this wonderful opportunity.” Candor’s year round admission policy ensures that all students, who for various reasons have to transfer mid-term, are given the opportunity to join anytime in the school year and are provided with the necessary support in areas of need.
As international schools are places of cultural and linguistic exchanges for students from all over the world both English and non-English speaking, Candor provides strong English as a Second Language (ESL) support.
Candor also provides Special Educational Needs (SEN) support and enrichment to differently-abled children through teachers who are trained, specialised and certified in the field. Candor sees professional development of the teaching community as a vital and ongoing process, so it has taken membership with bodies like the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), the Near East and South Asia Council of International Schools (NESA) and The American Library Association (ALA) to mention a few. Candor, as an international school, sees international mindedness as an attitude of the head and heart- an attitude that is open to accepting the best practices from other cultures and nations, that is daring enough to question the wrongs of discrimination on the basis of colour, that is willing to challenge the lurking colonialistic attitudes that creep into international schools, and that is determined at any cost to make the student and learning the focus of its existence. Finally, the proposed International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme and Diploma Programme and the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education will ensure that every student in Candor will be given the kind of education that will, according to the school aspiration, “...nurture young adults who will be catalysts for positive change both nationally and internationally; and who will ensure the protection of the environment, and the preservation of ethical and moral values in an age of constant social, political, economic, technological and environmental changes.”
